Bedfan Installation on a "Normal" bed

New !!! Watch This Video Click Here

Before reading all the instructions you may want to just look at the pictures do see how it works. A detailed description of the Bedfan's parts can be found here.

1) Take the sheets from the bottom of the bed and fold them back. You will see the end of the mattress and the box-spring here. Leave your fitted sheet on... Set the fan at the foot of the bed.

Notice how the fan is set flat against the foot of the bed and the actual fans are now tucked under the bed. Later I will show you how the fan can be completely covered with the bed skirt if you have one.

2) Now that the Bedfan is at the foot of the bed you can install the breeze bar.  Pay attention to the Red line. This is where the box-spring and the mattress come together. The only real requirement is that the top of the fan.. blue line, be above the red line.. You will see why later.

The top of  Breeze Bar should be about 1  inch higher than the top of the mattress, what this will do is allow the air to flow between the sheets without being constricted by the weight of the comforter and the sheets. I hope this makes sense to you... You can see one of the sides of the open area is now closed by being up against the mattress. And look at it again, Just think, if someone was to sit on this... Well it would just bend and then come back to its original position... No problem.

3) It is all down hill from here. All you have to do now is throw your sheets back over the top of the fan and Breeze Bar...

Now tuck your sheets in between the mattress and box spring like normal but this time you will tuck it around the Bedfan as well.

Remember the Red line and the Blue line. The blue line is higher than the red therefore we have closed in the entire open area. The front of the open area is closed off by the mattress and the back is closed off by the top sheet. This leaves the air only one place to go... that is along the path of least resistance (over the top of the mattress and along the sides of your body) and right between the sheets. This will eliminate the hot, humid, stagnant air that we have been talking about... See how the sheet is raised up just a small amount... Well that is all we need to let the cool air in.

 4) Put you comforter back in place.

That’s, it.

If you want to hide the Bedfan further, put a small incision in you dust ruffle and slip the fan through it... do every thing else the same way. Remember the red and Blue lines... Here is a better look.

Put you comforter back in place.

All done…

The air travels from the foot of the bed (the arrows) along your body. It keeps you cool, and  will keep you from having night sweats. At the same time will make your bed that much cooler too.
